Healing Work
The first step in healing work is to do a body scan.
Sit comfortably or lie down. Take in a nice deep breath through the nose and gently release it as though you were blowing through a straw.
Allow yourself to relax.
Now, consciously become aware of each area of you body from foot to scalp.
What thoughts come up as you focus on each area?
Are you in love with your feet?
Do you notice any tension in your calves?
How do you feel about your thighs?
What is the texture of your skin?
When was the last time you even looked at your hands?
Make note about everything about you.
Journal your thoughts and ideas for future reference.
Where in your body do you have dis-ease?
Unhealthy states are simply guiding us to areas of our life where we are not in balance. In many traditions, such as Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, dis-ease in a specific part of the body is related to an emotional imbalance. An example would be of the liver being the seat of anger. If you are angry a lot you may have issues with your bile or liver function. In order to truly do healing work on yourself or others, you must understand the underlying cause. It is not usually diet or exercise, but the limitations or worthiness thoughts that we keep in our conscious and subconscious mind.
I have been on a healing journey for many years. I have yet to master the thought processes that I used to create my dis-ease but I am aware that changing my thoughts will bring me closer to good health than just switching to a new diet or giving up caffeine. Some great books for getting to the real root of dis-ease are You are the Placebo by Dr. Joe Dispenza, You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay and In Tune with the Infinite by Ralph Waldo Trine.
